High-rise buildings replace vintage houses in Long Beach

Close to City Hall, between Broadway and Maine were kept since a while these wonderful vintage houses. They have just been removed and placed to lots acquired by the City of Long Beach.

On their new lots, these houses would be sold with all the needed attention.

Instead, Molasky Pacific will build a multi-family community.

Initially were planned two towers of respectively 55 and 45 stories as we could see on: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=36914

But finally the complex looks more reasonable. Here what is presented in Molasky website: Broadway and Maine Condominiums is a to-be-built $183 million, twenty story, 450-unit multi-family community. The community is to be developed on a 3.4 acre parcel located on the southwest corner of Broadway and Maine in downtown Long Beach, California. Unit amenities will include full size washer/dryers in every unit, nine foot ceilings, crown molding, oval tubs, separate shower enclosures, granite counters, hard wood cabinets, upgraded sink and plumbing fixtures, wood flooring and an upgraded stainless steel appliance package. Community amenities will include a swimming pool, fully-equipped fitness center and resident's clubhouse.

Completion is planned for 2009 or 2010.

Home developer is Molasky Pacific.
